Captain Charles E. Barrier : Remember Me? - Pilot Portrait
The B17G Flying Fortress "Remember Me?" of the 457th B.G. 8th A.F. homeward bound to Glatton in England with help from a P51D Mustang of the 20th F.G., 6th August 1944.
"Remember Me?" was on a mission to Genshagen near Berlin when it was struck by another B17, severely damaging the vertical stabilizer and rudder. Despite this, pilot Captain Charles E. Barrier was able to bring his aircraft home.
Barrier flew 30 missions during WWII, approximately half of them in this aircraft.
