Pilot Officer Nigel Rose : Reach for the Sky - Pilot Portrait
A Messerschmitt Bf109E falls victim to the guns of Pilot Officer Nigel Rose of No.602 Squadron on the 29th October 1940.
Nigel 'Rosebud' Rose joined No.602 Squadron at Drem on 18th June 1940. On 25th August he claimed a Bf110 destroyed, and he shared another on 7th September. Two days later he was wounded in combat and he was unable to return to flying until 9th October. On 29th October he claimed a Bf109 destroyed.
