Sergeant Mike Croskell : The Battle for Britain - Pilot Portrait
The Hawker Hurricane flown by Sergeant Mike Croskell of No.213 Squadron in combat with a Messerschmitt Bf109E, one of two aircraft he destroyed on Tuesday August 13th, 1940.
Mike Croskell joined No.213 Squadron at Wittering on January 26th, 1940. His first success - a 'probable' - was on May 29th, 1940 when he attacked a Ju87 Stuka over Dunkirk. On August 11th he claimed a Ju88, a Bf109 and a Bf110 destroyed.
