Memorial to Flight Lieutenant Jimmy Paterson ::
There were nearly some last minute glitches for Geoff and the Shoreham Aircraft Museum guys, but on the day it all came together. Yesterday the memorial to Flight Lieutenant Jimmy Paterson was dedicated. Jimmy died when his Spitfire crashed into field at Eynsford on 27 September 1940, just down the road from the Museum.

The turnout was overwhelming, with more than 100 people in attendance, and one very full car park. The guests of honour were Jimmy's family who had travelled all the way from New Zealand to be there.
If you live in the South-East of England, you may have seen the TV coverage of the service and the Spitfire flypast. If you missed it, we've posted a few photos on Flickr.

There's more info about the ceremony on the BBC News site.
